Orthogonal View Editor
In orthogonal view the camera has no perspective. The distance to objects from the camera is difficult to apprehend and navigation is also difficult. On the other hand, if the camera is either completely horizontal or vertical, vertical and horizontal distances can be compared directly on the screen. In perspective distances can not be compared directly. The Orthogonal View Editor helps setting up orthogonal views.
Custom
With the Custom option the camera can be positioned at any position in the scene. The zoom level determines the scale in the viewer. If nothing else is enabled zoom level is the only settings that is set.
Camera Position
When the
Move Camera To
check box is checked the camera position is changed. Click the Get Scene Center X, Y button to position the camera in the scene center.
Camera Direction
If the
Set Camera Direction
check box is checked the camera direction is changed. You can choose from one of the pre-defines options: Up, Down, East, West, North, and South.
Top Down View
Positions the camera in the center of the selected surface at the specified elevation and adjusts the viewer size so that the surface completely fills the viewer. As an example this option can be used if you want a screen shot of a particular grid for use in an overview map or if you want a 2D Map Window.
