Blank Grid Using Grid
(Select two 2D or 3D grid files)
Use this operation to blank nodes in one grid based on another grid. Blanking of a 3D grid can be based on both a 2D and a 3D grid. Blanking of a 2D grid can only be based on another 2D grid. Grid 1 is always blanked based on Grid 2. Use the “Switch” button to swap grid 1 and grid 2.
- When both grids are 2D grids the elevation is compared. The blanked grid is blanked either above or below the other grid.
- When both grids are 3D grids the node values are compared. The blanked grid is blanked when the grid node value is either above or below the other grid.
- When the blanked grid is a 3D grid and the other grid is 2D then the elevation of each node in the 3D grid is used for comparison with the elevation in the 2D grid. Use this to blank a 3D grid either above or below a 2D grid, e.g., blank all nodes in a 3D grid above terrain.
