World File Format

ESRI Arc World file format example:

9.765625          //size of pixel in x direction
0                 //rotation term for row
0                 //rotation term for column
-9.765625         //size of pixel in y direction
567004.8828125    //x coordinate of center of upper left pixel in map units
6219995.1171875   //y coordinate of center of upper left pixel in map units

File extensions for world files are “.jgw” for JPEG image files (jpg) and “.bpw” for Windows Bitmaps (bmp).
