Dataset Manager
The Dataset Manager shows a list of all the datasets used in the current project. The right section of the form shows a preview of most dataset types. The Dataset Manager is launched from the main file menu or when selecting datasets for use in objects.
Dataset list columns
| Name | Name of the dataset. Each dataset must have a unique name within each project |
| Type | Dataset type. Types may be Graphic, Wells, Grid, 3DS file, etc. |
| Source | Source type. This may be a flat file, an Access database, etc. |
| Used | Says “Yes” if this particular dataset is in use in the current project. |
| Online | Says “Yes” if the source of the dataset is available for reading |
| Info | Various key information about the dataset |

Source path for the selected dataset is show below the dataset list. NOTE: If the text is blue the source is found locally in the project directory or in a sub directory although the source is actually set to a file in another directory.
Dataset Type:
Filters the content in the dataset list. If the “Dataset Manager” has been launched to select a dataset of a specific type this drop down list is disabled.
Add…
Adds a new dataset of the type currently showing in the Dataset Type drop down list. A new dataset will be added to the list and the dataset editor is shown for the new dataset.
Actions
Actions in the “Actions” button are also available in context menu
Refresh Info and Preview
Refreshes the info text and preview image of the selected dataset. In general this should not be necessary.
Add…
Adds a new dataset of the type currently showing in the Dataset Type drop down list. A new dataset will be added to the list and the dataset editor is shown for the new dataset.
Edit…
Shows the Dataset Editor for the selected dataset.
Delete…
If the selected dataset is not used it may be deleted.
Rename…
Renames the selected dataset. Will automatically update references to the dataset in clients using the dataset.
Clone…
Creates an exact copy of the selected dataset.
Delete All Datasets Not In Use…
Deletes all datasets that are not currently used in the current project.
Move Up
Moves the selected dataset down in the list
Move Down
Moves the selected dataset up in the list
Sort by Name
Sort loaded files by name alphabetically from A
Sort by Name and Type
Sort loaded files by name and type alphabetically from A
Reload…
Reloads the selected dataset.
Reload All Datasets…
Reloads all datasets currently showing in the list
Used By…
Shows a list with all the clients using the selected dataset.
Source Manager…
Shows the Source Manager
