-====== Adding Water Chemistry (Chem5) ======
-
-This tutorial will show how to add water chemistry data from a Chem5 database.
-
-==== Requirements ====
-
-
-=== Data ===
-
-You do not need any special project for this tutorial,  you can e.g. use the you created in the tutorial: [[:tutorials:setup:newproj|Creating a New Project]]. You can find the file Chem5.mdb here: C:\Users\Public\Documents\GeoScene3D\Demo :?

-
-==== Step 1. Open the project and set the 3D Camera View. ====
-
-1. Right-click the 3D Viewer and select the "Move To Coordinate…" menu item.\\
-\\
-2. In the "Camera Go To" window enter these value: "X" = 574700, "Y" = 6218000, "Z" = 25, "Stop Distance" = 0. Press "OK".\\
-\\
-3. Right-click the 3D Viewer and select "Camera Properties". In the "Camera" property editor "General" tab set both "Compass Angle" and "Vertical Angle" to 0. Press "OK".\\

-
-
-==== Step 2. Add Nitrate ====
-
-1. Right click the "Objects" node in the Object Manager to show the context menu. Go to the "New Object" sub menu and select "Chem5 Water Chemistry". The "New Chem5 Water Chemistry" node should show above the "Terrain" node in Object Manager.\\
-\\
-2. In the "Chem5 Water Chemistry" property editor that opens automatically enter "Nitrate" in the "Name" box to rename the object.\\
-\\
-3. Go to the "Data" tab. In the "Dataset" box press the "Select…" button to open the "Dataset Manager". A new Chem5 dataset is created.\\
-\\
-4. Press the "Add" button and the "Dataset Editor" is shown.\\
-\\
-5. Press the browse button […] next to the "Location" edit box and the "Source Manager" opens. Select "Access Database" in the "Type" drop down list. Press the "Locate Source…" button and select the file "Chem5.mdb" from the sample data directory.\\
-\\
-6. In the "Access Source" window that shows select "Chem5" and press "OK" (this will tell the system that the selected database is a Chem5 database).\\
-\\
-7. Press "OK" to close the "Source Manager". In the "Chem5 Dataset" window that now shows select "1176, Nitrat" in the "Parameter" drop down list and press "OK".\\
-\\
-8. Back in the "Dataset Editor" rename the dataset "Nitrate".\\
-\\
-9. Press "OK" to close the "Dataset Editor". Make sure the dataset we just created is selected in the "Dataset Manager" and press "OK".\\
-\\
-10. In the "Chem5 Water Chemistry" property editor Press "Refresh Data" to extract the chemistry data from the database and create 3D XYZ points.\\
-\\
-11. Go to the "Scale" tab. Select "Value" in the "Dataset Field" drop down list for "Direction" X and press "Apply". Now you can press “Close”.\\

-
-==== Step 3. Add Phosphate ====
-
-1. Right click the "Objects" node in the Object Manager to show the context menu. Go to the "New Object" sub menu and select "Chem5 Water Chemistry". The "New Chem5 Water Chemistry" node should show above the "Nitrate" node in the Object Manager.\\
-\\
-2. In the "Chem5 Water Chemistry" property editor that opens automatically enter "Phosphate" in the "Name" box to rename the object.\\
-\\
-3. Go to the "Data" tab. In the "Dataset" box press the "Select…" button to open the "Dataset Manager". Press "Add" to create a new Chem5 dataset. The "Dataset Editor" is shown automatically.\\
-\\
-4. Press the browse button […] next to the "Location" edit box to open the Source Manager. Select the Access source we created in Step 2.\\
-\\
-5. Press "OK" to close the "Source Manager". In the "Chem5 Dataset" window that now shows select "1376, Phosphor, total-P" in the "Parameter" drop down list and press "OK".\\
-\\
-6. Back in the "Dataset Editor" rename the dataset "Phosphate".\\
-\\
-7. Press "OK" to close the "Dataset Editor". Make sure the dataset we just created is selected in the "Dataset Manager" and press "OK".\\
-\\
-8. In the "Chem5 Water Chemistry" property editor Press "Refresh Data" to extract the chemistry data from the database and create 3D XYZ points.\\
-\\
-9. Go to the "Scale" tab. Select "Value" in the "Dataset Field" drop down list for "Direction" Y. Also, set "Factor" to 100 for "Direction" Y.\\
-\\
-10. Go to the "Material" tab. Press the "Color" button and select red. Press "OK".\\
-\\
-{{:tutorials:adddata:d8eaaf07ec249b5032390db315b05426.jpg|d8eaaf07ec249b5032390db315b05426.jpg}}
-
-
-==== Step 4. Visual Appearance and result ====
-
-1. Experiment with the various settings for the visual appearance, e.g., change the geometry point type to "Sphere" and increase the number of slices to 16. Increase the scale in the Y and Z direction to 40 for Nitrate. Increase the scale in the X and Z direction to 40 for Phosphate.\\
-\\
-2. If wells are added it is evident that the chemistry samples are located at the filter centers.\\
-\\
-3. Move the water chemistry nodes and wells below the "Terrain" node in the Object Manager (see the Tutorial "Wells" for instructions). The water chemistry data and wells are now visible through the terrain.\\
