Registering and using images in GeoScene3D

Introduction

It is possible to register images in GeoScene3D and use them both for visualization and for use in a modeling process.

This can be an easy way to bring in analog data, i.e. scanned documents, photos etc, and use them in the modeling process or for purely visualization. Here a couple of examples:

Blanking a region

This tutorial will show you how to use the blanking tools. The tool allows you to blank a region or blank the area around the region.

Step 1. Preparations

1. Open any project, e.g, the project you created in the tutorial: Creating a New Project.

2. The project should contain a map and a few background themes. If there is no map then create a map as shown in the tutorial

Grid Mosaic

This is a tutorial of how to mosaic multiple grids to one grid in the GeoScene3D Toolbox.

Requirements

Data

To be able to mosaic grids in the Toolbox, make sure that the grids have the same grid cell size. In this case, we want to load terrain models from an area in the Toolbox, mosaic the grids and then the outcome is one terrain model covering all test areas.
