Grid Editor Tool

Both 2D grids (surfaces) and 3D Grids can be edited directly in 2D maps, 2D profile windows, and in 3D using interactive editor tools. See Editing Data for general information about editing data in GeoScene3D. Both 2D and 3D grids are edited using the same editor.

Grid Operations

From the grid operations dialog a series of operations can be performed on the grid. The operation works on the full grid and is not limited by the selected geometry and boundaries.

NOTE: These operations are experimental and can not be undone.

Linked Grids Editor

The Linked Grids Editor window is shown when editing multiple discrete 3D grids simultaneously. This is also known as voxel modelling. See also Editing 3D Grids (voxel modelling)

3D grids with grid nodes at the same position in XYZ space and listed in the same group in the Object Manager can be edited as a voxel model.

Pick Grid Nodes Tool

The Pick Grid Nodes Tool is used to select voxels surrounding a seed voxel selected by the user. The tool can be used on any 3D grid in the project if it has the same geometry as the 3D grid beeing edited. As an example the tool can be used to select voxels in a resistivity grid. The positions of the selected voxels are then used to set the lithology of voxels in another.

The Tool Algorithm Preview shows a simple cross section of the current tool. The cross section can be shown either West to East (W –> E), South to North (S –> N), or Bottom to Top (B –>T).

When editing 2D Grids the node elevation is shown.
