Editing Data

In the Editor version XYZ Points, 2D grids (surfaces), and 3D Grids (voxel models) may be edited directly in 2D maps, 2D profiles, and in 3D viewers.

If the edited surface represents a geological or geophysical surface the editing can be seen as a direct way of interpreting data. As an alternative point data can be edited and then interpolated to a surface. Either existing grids or a new blank grid can be edited.

Edit sessions is controlled from the editor toolbar or the object manager. In the editor toolbar, an editable object is selected in the drop down list and an editor dialog is opened when the “Start Editing Object” button is pressed. In the object manager, highlight and right-click an editable object and select “Start Edit Session” .

Select the editing tools in the editor toolbar, in the map window or in the profile window. The Editing tool works in the 3D window, in the map window and in the profile window at the same time.

Edit several editable objects (Points and Surfaces) at the same time

Start an edit session of one object, edit and start edit session of another editable object without ending the edit session. In the object manager, edited objects (Points and Surfaces) are highlighted with a dashed red line. To start an already edited object in same edit session, simply double click the dashed red line as illustrated in below image.

To end the edit session press the “Stop Edit Session” button in the Editor toolbar or
right-click an editable object and select “Stop Edit Session” . The user will be promoted to save the edits.
