SEGY files

Import of *.segy, *.sgy and *.seg format.

The Seismic SEGY import is very simple. It is up to the user to specify the top and bottom elevation of the seismic profile, which is then “streached” accordingly. This corresponds to a time to depth conversion with a constant velocity.

The positions of the seismics is read from the SEGY trace headers, and a profile is constructed with the seismic draped on it. The user may after import change the default vertical positioning in the Object Properties of the profile, where it is also possible to change colorscales etc.

Note – when you open the profile in a profile view, you have the option in the right click mouse menu to enable dynamic zooming. This will load the SEGY data into memory, and give you high resolution when you zoom in the seismic. This takes some time depending on your computer, but you gain full resolution of the seismic.
